Hi, my name is Axel, illustrator and designer.

I am based in Stuttgart, Germany where I am create illustrations for magazines and brands and teach design at the International University. I love transforming complex topics into vibrant illustrations. My style features clear lines, bold colors, and eye-catching forms. I always try to communicate with humor and playfulness, including whimsical details to discover.

Technology & Science:

I specialize in illustrations for technology, science, medicine, and business. These topics are often technical and quite dry. I enjoy turning them into engaging visual stories, ideally with a wink to make this complex content more accessible and entertaining.

Editorial Illustration & Brand Communication:

Whether it's editorial illustrations for magazines, brand communication in print or online: My illustrations aren't just decorative, they add new perspectives and aspects to the text. Ideally, illustration and text form a dynamic symbiosis.

Infographics:

I strive to create more than your regular infographics. From raw numbers and data I create infographic illustrations which combine pure information with playful elements. With my unique artistic take I am taking your information graphics to the next level, sparking the curiosity of the viewer.

Spatial Illustrations & Murals:

Illustrations offer added value beyond magazines, posters, or online media. Wall graphics can communicate powerful messages. I've created murals, showrooms, and exhibitions for various clients in business, education, and culture.

How I work:

After the brief and research of the topic I start with sketches – sometimes in a sketchbook, sometimes digitally on the iPad. Depending on the project, I may already create a digital look and feel at this stage. The final artwork is always developed digitally in Adobe Illustrator.

I work for international clients and magazine like Smart, Monocle, Dwell Magazine, The Atlantic, Google, Red Bull, Haufe Group, Deutsche Telekom, TÜV Süd, Allianz, Zeit Magazin.

Berlin Boombox

The Berlin Boombox is a sustainable promotional product, which helps brands stand out from the crowd.
I have been creating, manufacturing and distributiong this bluetooth speaker since 2012. It all started with an awesome Kickstarter campaign.

We produce the Berlin Boombox with custom design for agencies and brands, who use it as a give-away, prize and marketing tool. Since 2012 we produced over 10.000 units, for great clients like Spotify, Google, Samsung, Hard Rock Cafe, MTV, Oatly.
